Play together
Press Esc, type a room code and press Join. Everyone who enters the same code ends up in the same yard. It works from any browser with nothing to install, and there is no game server. Once the room has introduced the players to each other, packets go directly from one browser to another. Leave the code blank and the game makes one up for you to share. A link works too: latenitestudio.net/play/sandbox?room=yourcode.
The first player in a room hosts the world. Everyone else sends it requests, whether that’s spawning a prop, welding two things or using the tool gun. Each player simulates their own body locally, so moving and rocket jumping feel instant. If the host leaves, the next player takes over and nothing is lost.
What it shows
Everything you can spawn is a node with components on it, and the tools only look for components, not object types. So a balloon can lift a barrel you’ve made explosive and welded to a hovering slab, without any of those pieces knowing about each other.
The crates, glass, pots and melon are each a single mesh until something hits them hard enough. Then the engine fractures them at runtime, with smaller pieces near the point of impact. The ragdoll is a separate prop for each limb, so you can drag it by an arm or tie a balloon to its wrist. The tarp under the gantry is simulated cloth.
All the models and icons are generated in code.
